Tuesday, 4, August 2026 {HMC} The Federal Republic of Somalia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan today signed a MoU between the two Ministries of Defense, which aims to strengthen cooperation in the areas of defense, security and military capability development.
The MoU was signed in Islamabad by the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Ma’alin Fiqi, who is leading a delegation on an official visit to Pakistan, and the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
The MoU stipulates that the two sides will cooperate in counter-terrorism, military training, exchange of military expertise and knowledge, development of defense capabilities, and strengthening security cooperation, in support of efforts to ensure peace and stability.
