Thursday 6, Aug 2026 {HMC}Â The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received at the National Assembly the Deputy Defence Force Commander of the Republic of Uganda, General Sam Okiding, who arrived in Mogadishu to attend the Conference of Military Commanders of the countries contributing troops to Somalia.
This meeting was part of the meetings that the President of the Republic is holding with the military leaders participating in the conference, which focus on strengthening security cooperation, accelerating the fight against terrorism and enhancing cooperation with friendly countries that support security and stability in Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh thanked the government and people of Uganda for their significant role in rebuilding security institutions and efforts to ensure peace and stability in Somalia, stressing the importance of further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
