Wednesday, August 5, 2026 {HMC} The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received at the Presidential Palace the Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Djibouti, General Zakaria Sheikh Ibrahim, and senior officials.
The Commander and his delegation arrived in Mogadishu to attend the Conference of Commanders of the Armed Forces of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), which focuses on strengthening security cooperation, coordinating operations and accelerating efforts to ensure peace and stability in Somalia.
The meeting between the President and the Djibouti Army Chief emphasized the brotherly relations and defense cooperation between Somalia and Djibouti, as the President thanked the government and people of Djibouti for their prominent role in supporting security, combating terrorism and rebuilding Somali security institutions.
