Tuesday, 3 August 2026 {HMC} – A meeting of military experts from countries supporting the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) opened today in Mogadishu, serving as a preparatory session for the upcoming Chiefs of Defence Forces Conference.
The experts discussed developing an operational plan to accelerate military operations against Al-Shabaab, strengthen intelligence sharing, and enhance coordination among participating forces.
The plan prepared during the meeting will be submitted to the Chiefs of Defence Forces for approval, with the aim of improving security, promoting stability, and advancing efforts to eliminate terrorism in Somalia.
