The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Ali, attended the opening session of the Third Russia–Africa Summit, representing H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
African and Russian leaders are using the summit to set the direction of their cooperation for the years ahead. Somalia is pressing for partnerships that deliver on maritime security, blue economy investment, energy and skills, as part of its wider effort to broaden its international partnerships.
As a Red Sea and Indian Ocean state and a current member of the UN Security Council, Somalia is backing an African agenda measured by results.
