Friday 3 Sep 2026 {HMC} The Federal Republic of Somalia today received the first Salam Air flight on the new direct route between Muscat and Mogadishu.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by H.E. Mohamed Farah Nuh, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, and H.E. Hassan Mohamed Ali (Nadaara), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The new service follows the Foreign Minister’s visit to Muscat in April and the appointment of a a new resident Omani Ambassador in Mogadishu.
The Deputy Minister welcomed the Salam Air delegation and affirmed Somalia’s commitment to cooperation that serves travellers and supports trade and tourism between the two brotherly peoples.
