Pakistan Announces It Will Defend Saudi Arabia.

Friday, 18 Sep 2026 {HMC} A Pakistani military spokesman has said that his country will “leave no stone unturned” in defending Saudi Arabia.

Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told Arab News on Thursday that Pakistan would support Saudi Arabia both diplomatically and militarily. He said Pakistan would take “every necessary step” to ensure the security of the two Holy Mosques and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The statement comes amid escalating Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, including attacks affecting the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure. Saudi Arabia has also said it intercepted a drone near Makkah, while the Houthis denied targeting the holy city.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement on August 7, 2026. The agreement stipulates that an armed attack against any one of the three countries will be regarded as an attack against all three, while expanding defence cooperation among them.
