Tuesday 7 July 2026 {HMC} Two Kenyan siblings from Wajir County have reached a milestone in aviation after serving together as pilots on the same commercial passenger flight.
The flight highlighted a notable family achievement, with the two brothers serving together in the cockpit as captain and first officer on the flight between Kenya and Somalia last week.
Captain Abdullahi Adan Hassan and his younger brother, First Officer Omar Adan, operated a return flight between Nairobi and Mogadishu aboard a Fokker 70, marking Omar’s debut as a commercial airline pilot.
The flight was celebrated by 99s Flying School, where the crew trained, as a landmark moment for its alumni. In a statement, the school congratulated Omar on his first commercial flight and praised the achievement as a reflection of the calibre of its graduates.
