Monday 6 July 2026 {HMC} Talks between the Future Council and the Federal Government of Somalia are set to open in Mogadishu tomorrow, Tuesday, focusing on political issues, elections and the transition period.
The meeting will be attended by the Turkish government and representatives from the international community, with the expectation that different perspectives will be brought together and that guarantees for the implementation of any agreement reached in the talks will be discussed.
The Future Council is putting forward direct elections based on 4.5, while the DFS is still insisting on its direct election of parties.
