Thursday, July 16, 2026 {HMC} – Traditional elders in Puntland’s Bari region have issued a set of recommendations addressing the ongoing commercial dispute at the Port of Bosaso, which has led to the suspension of business activities across the city and the shutdown of port operations.
The elders said their proposals are intended to resolve the deadlock affecting Bosaso’s business community.
Among their key recommendations are a review of the agreement between the Puntland administration and DP World, the suspension of recent tax increases, and the immediate reopening of the Port of Bosaso and the city’s markets, which have remained closed in recent days.
