Monday, June 22, 2026 {HMC} The President of the Somali National Army and Commander-in-Chief of the Somali National Army, His Excellency Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has promoted one rank to officers of the Somali National Army who were martyred in the early battles in Lower Juba and Bay regions while defending the unity and nationalism of the country, following a proposal by the Commander of the Somali National Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud. The officers are:-
1. Martyr Ex-Lieutenant Yoonis Adan Hassan, former Commander of the 9th Brigade, 60th Division of the Somali National Army, who was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant.
2. Martyr Ex-Lieutenant Ali Cadow Mohamed, former Commander of the 8th Brigade, 60th Division of the Somali National Army, who was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
3. Martyr Ex L/X/le Ibrahim Shuuriye Nur, former Commander of the Special Forces of Danab Jubba, who was promoted to the rank of General.
This promotion came after the Somali National Army Command recognized these officers as heroes who sacrificed their lives for this nation, and were martyred while defending the country, people, religion and flag.
Finally, the Somali National Army Commander, Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud, prayed to Allah SWT to accept their certificates and grant them Jannatul Firdowsa.
