Friday, July 17, 2026 (HMC) – Syrian security authorities have announced that they intercepted a shipment of weapons that was being smuggled into the country through the Iraqi border and was allegedly destined for Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Ministry of Interior said security forces stopped a suspicious vehicle before it was able to enter Syria.
According to the ministry, a search of the vehicle uncovered a cache of weapons, including missiles, anti-tank missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).
