Tuesday 18 August 2026 {HMC} Four men were killed and two others were injured in a shelling that took place this afternoon in the coastal area of Suuj in Dangorayo district of Nugaal region.
The dead men were on a boat that washed up on the shore, according to a local resident who told local media, and it is still unknown who carried out the shelling.
Three ships owned by pirate groups are anchored in the Suuj and Garmaal areas, including one that was captured yesterday and some reports say belongs to Turkey.
It is still not known whether the men killed in the shelling are pirates or people whose livelihoods depend on marine products.
