Tuesday, 8, Sep 2026 {HMC} Iran has announced that it has captured a U.S.-owned unmanned underwater vessel.
Fars News Agency, which has close ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that Iran had “captured” a U.S. autonomous underwater vessel.
Fars described the vessel as one of the “most advanced and intelligent unmanned underwater vessels” operated by the U.S. military.
The agency added that the vessel was captured at the “entrance” to the Strait of Hormuz.
