Monday, 5, October 2026 {HMC} The bodies of Pakistani sailors who were killed in Somalia were repatriated to Pakistan today.
The sailors were reportedly killed by Somali pirates aboard the vessel MT Honur25, which was recently seized by Puntland security forces.
Some relatives of the deceased said their sons were hardworking Muslim men who were unjustly killed by Somalis. They also accused the Pakistani government of failing to pay a ransom, although they said the government has now promised financial compensation.
“We do not want money. We want the lives of our sons who were unjustly killed,” said the father of Masood Ansari in remarks to the media.
