Sunday 4, Oct 2026 {HMC} The leaders of Somalia, Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea held a meeting lasting several hours in El Alamein and called for the preservation of Somalia’s unity, rejecting any move aimed at dividing the country.
The leaders agreed to cooperate on Red Sea security, particularly to ensure the safe and unhindered passage of ships through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
They also discussed the Nile River dispute, particularly Ethiopia’s dam project, warning against any country violating international law.
Finally, they called for the preservation of Sudan’s sovereignty and emphasized that the four countries share common interests in defense and security and can meet whenever necessary.
