Sunday 4, October 2026 {HMC} The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Issa Guutaale, signed audit reports on the examination of institutions and projects of the East African Community (EAC), of which Somalia is a member.
The reports were presented to the Auditor General at the Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia by Mr. Simion Lenkaa Lolgisoi, Head of Internal Audit at the EAC Secretariat.
The reports cover the East African Community Secretariat, the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), the East African Court of Justice (EACJ), the East African Kiswahili Commission (EAKC), the East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO), the East African Health Research Commission (EAHRC), the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC), the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO), the Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA), as well as other East African Community projects.
The reports signed by Somalia’s Auditor General include special audits, information systems audits, and performance audits related to the East African Monetary Union (EAMU), as well as management letters arising from the audit activities.
The signing of these audit reports forms part of the completion of regional audit activities and reflects the role of Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General in strengthening transparency, accountability, and sound financial management within East African Community institutions.
