Friday, 9 October 2026 {HMC} The Federal Republic of Somalia strongly condemns the Houthi group’s attacks on Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which killed civilians and injured many others. These attacks are a grave violation of international law and a direct threat to the Kingdom’s sovereignty and to regional security.
Somalia stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As a Red Sea littoral state, Somalia considers the security of the Gulf and Red Sea region inseparable from its own, and calls for an immediate end to attacks on civilian infrastructure.
The Federal Republic of Somalia extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to all those injured.
