Friday 22 May 2026 {HMC} The Turkish Minister of Energy met with the Somali Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dahir Shire Mohamed, in Ankara on the sidelines of the Istanbul Summit on Natural Resources.
The officials from both countries discussed the ongoing oil drilling activities off the coast of Somalia, in which Turkey is participating, stating that the exploration process is progressing well.
The Turkish Minister of Energy said that energy cooperation between Somalia and Turkey has reached a fruitful level, and both sides plan to further strengthen investment and cooperation in the energy and mining sectors.
