Saturday, July 18, 2026 {HMC} – Eight people were killed and 62 others were injured after Ukrainian drones struck two stores of Russia’s largest online retailer Wildberries, Russian officials said.
Seven of the deaths and 25 injuries occurred at a store in the city of Tambov, about 295 miles (475km) southeast of Moscow. One person was killed and 37 injured at another Wildberries store in Elektrostal, Moscow region.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attacks targeted “large logistics centers” that were used “to supply banned components for the production of drones and guidance equipment”.
He added that Ukraine had also bombed targets in the Sea of ​​Azov, the Black Sea, and Crimea, which Russia annexed.
Unconfirmed footage from the scene of one of the warehouse attacks showed flames and thick black smoke billowing from a large logistics building, as dozens of workers ran into a parking lot.
