Tuesday, June 26, 2026 {HMC} The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ali Omar, held bilateral meetings with senior Arab and regional officials, which took place on the sidelines of the Arab League Foreign Ministers’ Conference held in Amman, Jordan.
The meetings aimed to strengthen diplomatic relations and enhance cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
The State Minister met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Government of Qatar, Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, where the two sides exchanged views on the regional situation and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Somalia and Qatar.
He also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Djibouti, Abdulkadir Hussein Omar.
The meeting focused on the traditional brotherly relations between the two neighboring countries and opportunities to expand cooperation in key areas.
In the third meeting, the Minister of State held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanian Citizens Abroad, Mohamed Saalim Ould Merzoug.
The two officials reaffirmed the strong relations between Somalia and Mauritania, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation at the bilateral level, the level of the League of Arab States, the African Union, and other international forums to support peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
These meetings demonstrate Somalia’s ongoing diplomatic efforts with friendly countries, and its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing common interests in Arab, African, and international forums.
