Sunday 05, July 2026 {HMC} DANAB Commandos conducted operations against ‘AS’ in Farsooley area of Lower Shabelle region of South West State of Somalia, and a statement from the Command stated that 5 AS members were killed in the operation.
One of the men who was attacked was said to be wearing explosives and detonated himself, and a statement from the DANAB Commandos Special Forces stated that there were no casualties in the explosion.
The statement added that the leadership of ‘AS’ members in Farsooley area of Lower Shabelle region left the area after feeling pressured by the operations being carried out by the government forces.
The Federal Government of Somalia said it had destroyed an ‘AS’ weapons cache in the Farsooley area of Lower Shabelle region, and military officials said they were continuing their operations.
DANAB commandos often carry out operations against ‘AS’ in Lower Shabelle region, which have occurred on various occasions in several areas, resulting in casualties including deaths and injuries.
