Tuesday 13, August 2024 {HMC} The government forces and local residents conducted operations in villages within the Farlibah area of the Hiran region, resulting in the arrest of two foreign men affiliated with the Al-Shabaab group.
Local authorities later presented the two foreigners and a Somali man who had surrendered to the government forces operating in Farlibah.
Ahmed Adan Hassan, the Governor of Farlibah, stated that the joint forces continue their operations against Al-Shabaab and commended the forces for apprehending the foreign militants.
“The government forces and local people conducted these operations and arrested the two foreigners without harm. The Somali man had escaped from the Khawarij and is benefiting from the amnesty offered by the President of Somalia,” said Governor Ahmed Adan.
The foreign militants did not reveal their origin to the Farlibah local authorities and were handed over to the military command in Hiran, based in Baledweyne.
