Sunday 16, Feb 2025 {HMC} The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a productive meeting with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), on the sidelines of the 38th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
The discussions focused on advancing Somalia’s WTO accession process and the way forward following the country’s successful entry into the East African Community.
Accession to the WTO holds great significance for Somalia, promising to unlock new opportunities for trade, attract investment, and further integrate Somalia into the global economy.
