Thursday Febr 13, 2025 {HMC} Security forces in Mogadishu apprehended three suspects, including one who was injured, during an operation in the Abdiaziz district on Wednesday following an attack on the Abdiaziz Police Station chief, who was enforcing a court order.
During the confrontation, police seized two AK-47 rifles and an RPG launcher from the assailants. Somali Police Spokesman Colonel Abdifatah Adan Hassan stated that an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators and ensure they face legal proceedings.
“Police managed to arrest three of the attackers, while four others escaped and are being pursued,” said Colonel Hassan.
According to reports, the clash stemmed from a land dispute over a house that a court had previously ruled should not be built. However,
construction resumed in defiance of the court’s order, prompting police intervention. When security forces arrived to enforce the ruling, a confrontation ensued, resulting in multiple injuries.
Authorities continue to search for the remaining suspects, reiterating their commitment to upholding the rule of law and preventing further illegal construction in the city.
