Monday Nov, 18, 2024 {HMC} Somali Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi received the credentials of the new International Organization for Migration (IOM) Chief of Mission to Somalia, Manuel Marques Pereira, during a meeting in Mogadishu on Sunday.
Minister Fiqi and the new chief discussed strengthening collaboration on key initiatives supporting Somalia’s development.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is leading efforts to establish a Diaspora Centre to engage and support over 4 million Somalis living abroad. The centre is expected to play a crucial role in mobilizing diaspora contributions to Somalia’s socio-economic progress.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains committed to leading initiatives that advance Somalia’s development. We look forward to continuing our partnership with IOM to achieve these shared goals,” the Minister stated,” the ministry said.
