Somalia National Communication authority gets ISO certified

Monday 8 Aug 2024 {HMC} Somalia’s National Communication Authority (NCA) has achieved significant milestones by obtaining several prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications.

According to Somalia’s Minister of Communication and Technology Mohamed Adan Moalim, the achievement will enhance regulation of communication and technology in the country.

Speaking at the event, Mohamed praised the success of the NCA.

He expressed his belief that this achievement will significantly enhance the regulation of communication and technology in the country.

“I commend the National Communications Authority on receiving three ISO certifications,” he stated.

“This accomplishment reflects the agency’s dedication and ongoing progress. I hope it will greatly contribute to the regulation of telecommunications and technology in our country.”

The Authority was feted in an event held in Mogadishu, for attaining ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 27001:2022 – Information Security Management System (ISMS), and ISO 27701:2019 – Privacy Information Management System (PIMS).

NCA director general Mustafa Yasin Sheikh said the certifications reflect the Authority’s dedication and efficiency in delivering on their mandate.

“Acquiring these international ISO certifications is no easy feat. It represents a significant achievement for our agency and reflects the dedication and efficiency that underpin our work,” he said.

The certifications highlight NCA’s unwavering commitment to quality management, information security, and privacy protection.
