Monday 8 Aug 2024 {HMC} Armed groups recently killed a businessman at his place of business in the Howlwadaag neighborhood of Baledweyne, the capital of the Hiraan region.
The businessman, named Madeer Ibrahim Hassan, was one of the traders in Baledweyne.
The killing occurred after a dispute between the armed group and the deceased, which arose when the armed men attempted to take him by force.
“Three armed men entered the shop and grabbed items. When he asked for payment, they refused. When he confronted them, they robbed the place and fled,” said a person near the scene where Madeer was killed.
Baledweyne security forces arrived at the scene and are searching for the group responsible for the killing, which has terrified the residents of the Howlwadaag area in Baledweyne.
Finally, this killing of a businessman occurs as insecurity in Baledweyne city has reached its highest level, with no one taking responsibility for addressing the violence or mediating between conflicting authorities in the city.
