Beledweyn, 11,Aug 2024 {HMC} Two landmine explosions occurred today in the Jalalaqsi district of the Hiraan region, resulting in death and destruction.
The first explosion took place at a checkpoint west of Jalalaqsi district, where the Mawisley forces were stationed. According to residents of Hiranweyn, two people were killed, and three others were injured.
The second explosion occurred nearby, not far from the checkpoint, killing two more people and injuring two others. This brought the total casualties from both explosions to four dead and four wounded.
The injured were taken to the General Hospital in Jalalaqsi District, where they are receiving treatment.
In response, ATMIS forces stationed in the district have shut down communication in Jalalaqsi due to today’s explosions.
The army is now conducting security operations. The district administration has not yet commented on the damage caused by the two explosions in the western part of Jalalaqsi district.
