MP Moalimuu Donates Medical Equipment to Bulaburte District Hospital.

Wednesday 7 August 2024 {HMC} A member of parliament for Hirshabelle State Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu has donated large quantity of medical equipment and supplies to Bulaburte district hospital in Hiiraan region to aid in the delivery of quality healthcare in the district and around villages.

The town of Bulaburte, which is about 202 kilometers north of the Somali capital Mogadishu, has been besieged by the Alshabaab terrorist group for more than 15 years and have prevented the town from reaching basic services despite the security in the city is under the control of ATMIS and the Somali National Army.

The life-saving items donated by Honorable Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu include 25 hospital electronic beds, patient tables ,10 hospital infant beds, Geriatric chairs, gynecological beds, patients trolleys and valuable machines such as Dialysis Machines and other equipment will contribute a lot for assisting needy patients and medical emergency situations

Speaking in Bulaburte during the handover ceremony attended by community leaders and local authorities the Federal Legislator Mohamed Moalimuu said that delivering health quality has been a big priority for him since his last trip to the district and will keep on working hard to ensure that the standard of healthcare delivery in the constituency is improved.

It was really encouraging to see that after 30 years, the first patient is to be operated in the hospital, and I would like here to thank the World Bank particularly its project Damal Caafimaad (Improving health services in Somalia) for supporting the renovation of some parts of the hospital, MP Moalimuu said.

 

Director of the hospital Dr Abdullahi Mohamed Abdi expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that it addresses a critical need in these health facilities. he also mentioned that that the hospital was without equipment which was a major obstacle to their operations.

The hospital still lacks important equipment such as refrigerators to store medicines that require low temperatures ,drug supplies and emergency ambulances for transporting patients , therefore , the elders of the district requested the MP to share these needs with the government and relevant health organizations in Somalia .
