Isniin 15 July 2024 {HMC} The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, received a copy of the credentials letters from Somalia’s new Ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Ali Abdi Aware.
During the ceremony in Cairo on Sunday, Ambassador Ali Abdi Aware thanked the Egyptian government for the warm reception and its readiness to provide all necessary support. He promised to strengthen the relationship between the two governments, focusing on economic, political, and other aspects of cooperation.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud recently appointed several ambassadors and diplomats, including Aware, to African and Arab countries.
President El-Sisi’s acceptance of Ambassador Aware’s credentials comes two days after a delegation led by Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty arrived in Mogadishu to officially launch Egypt Air’s direct flight line between Somalia and Egypt.
Launching the direct airline is seen as a turning point in the relationship between Somalia and Egypt. It reflects the two governments’ broader vision to deepen their cooperation across various sectors, including politics, security, economy, transport, civil aviation, trade, culture, higher education, health, and multifaceted training.
