The Attorney General of Somalia said that those who facilitated the attack on the Central Prison will be held accountable

Sunday, 14 July, 2024 (HMC) The situation in the Central Prison in Mogadishu is normal today after yesterday there was a confrontation between the correctional forces and prisoners sentenced to death and life imprisonment who got weapons.

It has been confirmed that 8 people including the prisoners who made the war and soldiers died in the confrontation, and 21 others were injured according to the officials of the Central Prison.

The Attorney General, Dr. Suleiman Mohamed Mohamud, speaking in Kismayo, the capital of Lower Juba region, said that a serious investigation should be conducted on those who somehow facilitated what happened in the prison.

“I am very sorry for what happened in the Central Prison, which is an unexpected and dangerous issue.
