Thursday , 29 Feb, 29, 2024 {HMC} The Puntland military court sentenced six foreigners to death on Thursday. The Court of First Instance found six Moroccans guilty of belonging to the ISIS-Daesh group.
The court found that these individuals entered Somalia to intimidate its citizens, capturing them in regions known for Daesh activity, particularly the Al Miskat mountains.
Colonel Ali Ibrahim Osman, Deputy Chairman of the Court, disclosed that the convicted Moroccans, now facing execution by firing squad, confessed to their affiliations with a terror group that has managed to gain a foothold in the Galgala mountains.
The Deputy Commissioner also announced prison sentences for a Somali individual and another born in Ethiopia, though the specific lengths of their sentences were not provided.
